Mining the Future

Mosaic's 'Mining the Future Student Program' supports post-secondary students in their pursuit of growing a successful career in the mining industry. Highly motivated students come to Mosaic with a diverse skill set and bring new and innovative ideas to the industry.

The Potash Mining Readiness Program is a specialized, company-run training initiative designed to prepare Indigenous learners for entry-level operations careers at our operations.

 

Our Food Story

Our internship opportunities are open to all post-secondary students. Selected candidates are placed in roles that align with their current academic programs, helping to further their growth in their chosen field.

Positions are available for work terms beginning in January, May, and September.

Opportunities may include roles in:

  • Engineering
  • Administrative functions (such as Human Resources, Public Affairs, and EHS)
  • Skilled trades
  • And more

Potash Mining Readiness Program

Get ready for a career in one of Saskatchewan’s most important industries. Mosaic’s 5-week Potash Mining Readiness Program helps Indigenous participants build the skills and confidence needed for entry-level mining roles.

Delivered at Mosaic’s Esterhazy site and local facilities, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:

  • Safety and teamwork
  • Physical job readiness
  • Resume writing and interview skills

You’ll be part of a supportive, culturally respectful environment where Indigenous identity is valued. This program is about more than training—it’s about building confidence, community, and career pathways.

Who Can Apply

  • Identify as Indigenous
  • 18 years or older
  • Able to pass a drug & alcohol test
  • Commit to the full 6 weeks
  • Comfortable with physical work and safety practices
  • Experience in construction, agriculture, or industrial work is an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and work in varied conditions
  • Wear required safety equipment (including a respirator)
  • Adequate hearing and vision (with or without correction)
